When I first heard about this film, I was a little skeptical about seeing it. I thought it would be another generic documentary about Shakira's life, and I wasn't even sure if Shakira was going to be there at the time. But I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. There was so much in this documentary that I actually loved. In the beginning, it starts off with an interview with Shakira talking about her childhood. She talks about how she felt so uncomfortable in school, and she was bullied by the other kids. She talks about how her mother did everything she could to protect her daughter. She talks about how she did not talk about her mother, and she felt like she had to keep it a secret. I felt like this was such an important part of her story, and I had to read it. After that, we're introduced to her parents. We see how they raised her. The parents had different philosophies, and they had different goals. But they did have a very clear vision for their child. They had a certain lifestyle and style that they wanted for her, and they did everything they could to try to get it for her. She goes on to talk about how her parents were kind, and they wanted to give her everything she could have. There are lots of funny stories in this documentary. One is about a scene where she's talking to the CEO of a food company and his daughter is in the room, and she starts rambling on and on. Then she goes on to talk about the food company. We're also introduced to some of her older children, and they talk about how they were so much different than their mother. There is also a great section about her siblings. I really liked that this was a family documentary, because I think it shows how well-rounded and normal Shakira's life is. I'm glad that it's not just Shakira's story, because that would have been boring. I think it's important for people to see how her life is, and it's important for people to know how much she means to people, because it really is a great thing. Overall, I really loved this documentary. It was really funny, it was interesting, it was entertaining, and it was really well-done. I give it a B.

Director Hans-Ulrich Schnaas, better known as "D-Strobe" in his directorial debut, presents an informative, stylish and insightful film on Shakira. The film, written by Schnaas himself and featuring the voice talents of Ewan McGregor, Robert Downey Jr., Kelly Rowland, the late Mark Ronson, Selena Gomez and many others, is an absorbing, illuminating and downright entertaining film. The film runs for approximately 85 minutes and it is split in two parts. The first half of the film focuses on Shakira's return to the U.K. for a world tour of her most popular songs. The second half of the film, about the making of the film and a documentary featuring interviews with Shakira's friends and collaborators, is very informative and entertaining. The film is very well made. The story is very compelling and the photography is top-notch. The soundtrack is very effective as well. The performances of McGregor, Downey Jr., Rowland and Ronson are good. In fact, these are the only performances I didn't like in the film. The film also has a very good point of view on the pop music industry. The documentary is entertaining and informative. The film is divided in two parts. The first half is mostly a concert with Shakira performing songs from her debut album. The second half focuses on the making of the film. The film is extremely well made. The story is very compelling and the film is a great deal more entertaining and informative than I thought it would be. I was blown away by the film and thoroughly enjoyed it. I strongly recommend this film to any fan of Shakira and/or music.

The first time I saw Shakira in concert I wasn't as keen as I should have been. I'm not a Shakira fan and I've only ever seen her at concerts but, I've been to quite a few of them and this is the one that I liked the most. I guess I've always been intrigued by her music but I've always always found it difficult to see how she has managed to be one of the best and most prolific music performers of our time. This is a big step in the right direction. She has never quite been able to get the mainstream to like her music because they usually think of her as one of the heavy weights of the music world but she's never been able to have a hit. And yet, in the movie, Shakira managed to make a song, a single and several other songs that are considered classics of the pop world (and by the standards of other musicians) pop stars in and of themselves. The audience was enthralled by the performance and I was totally mesmerised by the show. I've always enjoyed the way Shakira does her live concerts, she always has a good, mesmerising, electric, powerful and emotional show. This one is no different, but what makes it so special is the way she gives this presentation to the crowd and the way the audience reacts and embraces the performances. There was not a single part of the movie I didn't like. Everything from the perfect script to the way the film is presented to the audience, is top notch. There are some scenes that you feel like you've never seen before and this is a good thing. This movie really needs to be seen in concert or at least once. There are some scenes that really get you buzzing to the best of your ability. It's a movie that anyone can enjoy but if you have never seen her perform live, this movie would probably be the best way to go.
