I've read a few of the comments posted here and have to disagree with some of the statements made. I think it's the sort of film that can make or break a film maker's career. I am a big fan of Aarif Dirn's previous films and I'm hoping to see his career take off here. There are many aspects of this film which work, but the music is especially great. Some critics have complained that it's too "hip" or "modern" but I don't see any reason to be in any way critical of the film. My only comment is that the music is something that should not be ignored. This is a film that will move you. I've only seen the film a few times but will now be buying it on DVD when it comes out. I don't think it is appropriate to compare this to Aarif's earlier films, but to me it's just as good. The acting in the film was brilliant, with the exception of Karan, who I think was miscast. It's not the acting that I have to complain about, it's the music. Many have said that the music is too modern and I would agree. However, the majority of the music in the film is based on the songs from a German movie called "Ein Lied von Dich" (The Son of Death) which was released in 1968. It is a folk song about a father and his son who are murdered by two men. The music was created for that movie and I think it was perfect for this film. I think it would be a shame if a director or writer didn't adapt the music into their film. It was the first film to use the song and I would love to see a German version of this film. I'm looking forward to seeing the film again and again. One of the things I thought about while watching the film was how wonderful the music was. It's great. It's the type of film that should be watched over and over again. I would not suggest this film to anyone who wants a traditional story. I would suggest this film to anyone who wants to see a film that's more about the characters than about the story.
