Description A few years after her mother's passing, 17-year old Tennie's reputation at school takes a major hit before the prom. To further complicate the daily rigors of teenage life, her father, Robert, an advertising executive who has since rebuilt his business, tries to do the same with his relationship with his daughter. Against his therapist's advice, overeager Robert tries really hard to get close to Tennie by showing his own way of caring. He tries to find out about his daughter's personal life with the help of his newly appointed, 19 year-old driver/intern, Jack. Practically being raised by her extended family, Tennie although very academically inclined and mature for her age, with compassion for others, she's got a touch of sarcasm, and a hint of rebelliousness. After she catches on to her father's plan, Tennie realizes that in order to get her father off of her back, she needs to convince him to find a lady friend. She recruits her friends to create an online dating profile in order to introduce her father to potential companions. Little did she know that her father already was seeing someone that he was not yet ready to introduce to her. Things escalate when Robert gets Tennie's friends from school to participate in a focus group for a project, and in retaliation, Tennie throws a party at the house with almost half of the school showing up. A series of hilarious interactions between father and daughter ensues that starts to close the generational gap between them. What finally brings them together is a long overdue heart to heart conversation about past transgressions. One thing becomes certain, they will always have each other.

The early years of cinema were dominated by the genre of melodrama. The first major Hollywood film to tackle this subject was 1927's 'The Prince of China'. And the most famous melodrama in history was 'Fanny Hill'. This movie follows the life of Fanny Hill, a school teacher who is sent to China to help with the troubles in that country. But her only concern is that her husband, a British diplomat, has left her. Fanny finds that the best way to make him happy is to become his mistress. Fanny Hill has a lot to answer for, but you know what? That's the whole point of the film. It's not the plot that makes the movie work, but the characters. In this film, we are given the chance to see how well the actors are doing in front of the camera. That means that the actors are actually using their talent, rather than going through a series of rehearsals. I've read that the main reason why this film has such a strong following is because it addresses the issue of how to handle the issue of the British in China. The two main characters are played by Colin Firth and Emma Thompson. Both are very good in their roles. Colin Firth is absolutely fantastic as the cantankerous diplomat, and Emma Thompson is superb as the sweet and vulnerable Fanny Hill. I have to admit that I have not seen 'Fanny Hill' since I was a kid. The reason I've been able to watch it is because I had heard that it was so good. And it is. I was really disappointed when I saw it and found it really boring. So I re-watched it recently and I can safely say that this movie is a lot better. This movie is so good because it is very clever. There are so many times where I found myself laughing out loud and I was on the edge of my seat. The movie does not shy away from using humor to its advantage, but it also does it in a very subtle way. There are also a lot of great lines and one liners that the actors use. The characters of Fanny Hill and her husband are very likable, and I think they played their parts really well. Fanny Hill, as mentioned, has a lot to answer for, and so does her husband, but the movie does a great job in showing what makes them so great. This movie also does a great job in showing how a family should be. The main characters do not leave the room until the very end, and that's a great scene. I also like the way the film ends, which was very creative. This is one of those movies that I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a great film.
