Description Lee Israel (Melissa McCarthy) made her living in the 1970s and '80s profiling the likes of Katharine Hepburn, Tallulah Bankhead, Estee Lauder and journalist Dorothy Kilgallen. When Lee is no longer able to get published because she has fallen out of step with current tastes, she turns her art form to deception, abetted by her loyal friend Jack (Richard E. Grant). An adaptation of the memoir "Can You Ever Forgive Me?" relays the true story of the best-selling celebrity biographer (and friend to cats).

What a film.I love it. I've never liked Keaton or Dafoe. I do, however, love Cooper. I love the way he breaks down and tells the story of what happened in the past. His performance is a great piece of acting. His character is perfect. He embodies the pain of a alcoholic, a monster, an innocent. For him to pull off the story of what happened and how he was traumatized so badly by his past, he just takes it so well. He makes you believe in his character. He makes you want him to be OK, and we love him for it. His line at the end is wonderful. Keaton did it right. She did what he wanted her to do. She played the character with emotion and a great performance. I like the whole idea of her being afraid of the story and being emotional as it was happening, but she pulled it off perfectly. For me, the only negative part of the film was the ending. I really, really didn't think it was good. All the characters deserve better. To be honest, I don't like the idea of one person being able to win in a situation like that, and that could have been avoided if they just get the job. I don't think it was that bad. Just one little thing. But in all honesty, it's just one small thing. But the rest was fantastic. I also enjoyed the fact that they focused on an all-star cast. The songs were great, especially the ones played by Annie and John. It's also great to see them play in a big film, although it's not one I would have chosen to watch. What's most remarkable is the fact that this is one of the best films of the year. I don't think it's for the money, but it's for the art and style of the film, and I highly recommend it to people who love film.
