An honest and sometimes moving documentary about the trials and tribulations of a single mother, who is also a fighter for social change. It is about the struggles and the victories of Maria Mies (played by Naomi Watts) as she takes her first steps towards her dream of being a lawyer in her native country of Poland. She is a single mother, who works in a law office in the city, while caring for her son, who is diagnosed with a rare genetic condition, which requires a permanent home. There is nothing wrong with the film, but it is the characters that give it its greatest depth. The film gives us insight into the life of Maria, who is shown to be a quiet, but strong woman, who works hard to make a difference in her country, and who is also a fierce fighter for social change. This is the reason why she is a good representative for the women in the film, and for the reason why we as a viewer can identify with her struggles and triumphs. Naomi Watts is outstanding as Maria, and I would say that this is her best performance since Dancer in the Dark. The other actors are also good, especially Hani Hatib (the lawyer) and Adam Driver (the photographer). I have to say that this is the best film I have seen in a long time, but I also think that this film is not for everyone. For me, it is a beautiful and honest film, but I think that some people may not feel the same way. This is not a film for everyone. It is a film about a single mother, who struggles to make a difference in her country, and also about social change. I would also like to say that I would recommend this film to anyone, but not to everyone. Overall, I would give this film an 8.5/10.
