Cate Blanchett and Josh Hutcherson are a couple of gay, British spies who are recruited by the CIA and have to go undercover to get information about their enemy, the North Korean government. I don't know what they were thinking when they cast these two actors in the lead roles. Blanchett has no comedic ability whatsoever. She is a serious actress who has been playing these types of roles for the past 20 years. She could have done so much better. Hutcherson is a much better actor. He has the comedic ability and the talent to play these roles. He has been in a couple of good comedies and I really wanted to like him in this. His character is a very strong, intelligent and aggressive CIA agent who has the guts to go undercover. He's an interesting character, but I think he has to go deeper into his character to have any chance of being funny. They just didn't do it here. It is a very weak film with some very bad acting and not much else. There are some good things about it, but I just didn't find them enough to make this a good film. The film also takes a lot of its comedy from the poor accents that the cast is given. They have the right accent for each scene, but when they try to use them, they sound like they are in a different accent. The director does a decent job of taking the comedy and trying to make it funny, but he doesn't know how to put it together to make it funny. There are some good scenes and some really good ones, but I just didn't find the film to be worth it.
